Default frogs identification help from newbie

    Hi guys..
Im new to the mystical world of amphibians...its a 180 turn to what I've been learning during my undergraduate degree.
Hope you guys can help identify the frogs in the attached picture.
The photos were taken from one of the petstore in my area. Unfortunately, they do not have any idea on the scientific name.

    Cheers

That is a common American bullfrog. Very young, judging by the picture. Bullfrogs are notoriously mean, and require 100 gallon set ups, so I would not recommend keeping him.

They live best in large outdoor ponds .

It's a little hard to tell from the picture, but it appears to have dorsolateral ridges which would mean it's not a bullfrog. A green frog, Rana clamitans, is a usual suspect at pet stores but there are other possibilities. Do you have any idea on the location the frog is originally from?

Where is your frog from? Yours also looks like a likely bullfrog, Rana catesbeiana, or green frog, Rana clamitans. I can't tell from the picture, but does it have a ridge down each side of it's back?

In green frogs the ridges usually extend pretty far down the body and are more prominent. overall, it looks like a young bullfrog.

It is very blotchy, there is the possibility of either a bullfrog, green frog, or even a mink frog

The ridges are definitely very obvious on a green frog with it in hand. The angle and lighting in this picture make it not so obvious either way to me.
