Default pacman not eating! please help!

My new pacman still hasnt eaten for me. His temps on the hot side are 82*F-83*F, and the cool side is 76*F.
I have now tried tiny Dubias, wax worm, meal worm (i know that they are not the best but i'm getting concerned), and an earthworm!

I've been told his tank is too big, since hes only 1.5 inches and its a 20 gallon, but I've been trying to feed him anyways since the previous owner apparently had no issues and I didnt want to switch eveything around on him all at once...however Im putting him in a 6 qt sterliite with some coco-earth and a small water dish for now.

Any tips? I was told when we first started looking into pacmans that they were great eaters, to the point that many folks call them "garbage disposals". All my frog has done is run away from his food, take a huge poop, and then pee. X_X
I really dont want him to suffer, and I'll take him to the vet if necessary, but there HAS to be SOMETHING I can do to get him to eat!

I've been trying to feed him in a medium sized Kritter Keeper, as I dont want him to eat any substrate if he does choose to eat! Is this wrong? I've been watching vids of people feeding theirs on youtube and they are often in a seperate container!!

    Thanks in advance!

Have you tried crickets? If the previous owner fed him crickets and no other food items then he is not used to the other foods. Some are picky eaters and will only eat what they know. No matter how much you may despise crickets as a feeding you will have to suck it up and use them. Its a matter of life or death. Humidity is a serious issue as well. humidity needs to be maintained at 75 to 80% at all times. It is ok to feed in a separate container, but if he is stressed and feels more comfortable in his enclosure then you should feed him in his home. If you are using coco fiber substrate you should have nothing to worry about if he accidentally eats some.

Buy some crickets and see if they are what he wants.

i have been maintaining humidity, just doing it with a screen top is obnoxious, it will be much easier in a tub, that was all i was trying to say. The previous owner was feeding everything I am now, mealies, dubias, and earthworms, as well as crickets. she said he would eat all of the above happily. I will obviously not let my frog die because i hate crickets, that implication is rather rude. I've never given up on any animal that was within my power to care for, and I'm not going to start now. Considering I went out and bought 3 types of food I didnt have and have never had a need for before, I can deal with having to get a couple crickets.

Is there any way to get them OFF of eating crickets? Crickets have been PROVEN to have one of the highest rates of transferrable pinworms and other parasites, and its going to be pretty horrible knowing I'm purposefully feeding my frog something that is giving him parasites just because he wont eat anything else.

Its good to know that coco-fiber doesnt poss much of an impaction risk with these frogs, as it sure does with most lizards.

Can I scent the other food items with something like one can for snakes? Do they like it when you dangle it and do the "zombie" dance or do they prefer it to slightly wiggle and be away from them?

To help with humidity you can cover 3/4 of the screen top with Satan wrap. this helps to hold heat and humidity. You could also raise the temps to around 84° or 85° to help stimulate the appetite. Usually once they learn to eat from tongs they will eat just about anything you offer them. If your frog isn't eating then something is causing stress. Moving to a new home with a new care taker can be stressful. I would get some appropriately sized crickets and dust them with calcium. Remove the hind legs to make them easier to catch and let them go in the enclosure at night. keep it dark and keep the temps around 78°. This should help. If your frog does not eat for 8 days and you do not know whether he ate before you got him you may have to force feed him.

To start with, Grif was nothing but polite. You asked for help, Grif is trying to give it. YOU are the one coming off as rude.
You act as though you have been forced into taking on the responsibility for this animal. The fact that you went out of your way to get food items you never had gotten before.....that's just part of your responsibility.
Yes, there is a way to get them off of crickets....don't feed them the crickets. Use night crawlers/ earthworms.
Make sure the worms are the appropriate size and not too large. This means cutting them to size. When you feed, use tongs and "tickle" the frogs mouth.......make that sucker dance!! I know it will get frustrating (I do it every night for over 100 froglets), but give it your best......eventually the frog will either eat it because it is hungry or lunge at it because it is angry.....once they get a taste of it, they usually will accept it after that.
In the 1000's of frogs we have raised, very few have ever rejected the nightcrawlers. make sure they are NOT red wigglers.....they seem to exude a foul taste in the mucous when attacked that puts the frogs off.

Again, 20 gallons is too much space for a frog that size, good thing you moved it into a smaller container. Go ahead & try feeding in the container, the coco fiber shouldn't be an issue. I'm thinking maybe all the re-locating to feed may be stressing the frog out. It has already had a move from one household to another.

Not fully awake right now, but how long have you had the frog and how long has it not fed?
Please remember that we are trying to help you because you asked us to. Now.....I am off to make more stuff for our table at the Expo, but I will check back in sporadically (Clueless reference!) during the day!

    Have FUN!!

Egads.......this girl went and posted up on Facebook about how badly she was treated here on a Pacman Group page that I am a member of............so yes, I told her all about herself there too. No one was rude to her here, she just didn't hear what she wanted, so she is creating drama. Think I'll leave that group though because it is so slow....almost NO posting........going to create my own page.......will post a link to it in case any here want to join it.....Facebook gives a little more freedom of expression. Not about to leave the forum, but sometimes I need to express myself in more non-PG terms.........LOL
