Default Setting up 12 x 12 x 18 habitat for red eye tree frog?

    Hey Guys

I am looking to set up a 12 x 12 x 18 terrarium for a tree frog. Would this size of terrarium be large enough for a red eyed tree frog?

I have the following equipment already.

    -exo terra 12x 12 x 18 enclosure
    -fogger
    -small water dish
    -fake twisty vine
    -fake plant
    -substrate
    -uv b light
    -Hygrometer and thermometer

The temp is quite cool (65) and I'm wondering what the best way to add more heat would be (substrate heater? heat lamp/bulb?)

Let me know your thoughts or opinions! any help would be awesome!!

    Cheers

    Hello,
    Welcome to Frog Forum
    Great start! Enjoy !!!
Check the vines very carefully! Sometimes there are little metal ends sticking out of the bud areas that could cause an injury to your frog.
65 F is too cool ! See this care sheet:
A must !! vitamin and calcium supplements ( very small crickets if it is a froglet--common mistake is too large a feeder insect)

Seriously consider have these emergency medication on hand:

Purchase some unflavored pedialyte ( used for therapeutic re-hydration if needed)

Lynn, are you confirming that a 12 x 12 x 18 is large enough for a single adult? Two adults?

I think that it is temporary for one or two.
They should really have at least 24" high.

That is VERY small IMO. Not wide enough and definitely not tall enough.

I had thought the same thing, but almost every care sheet that I've read says that a 10 gallon tank is big enough for 2 adults. The dimensions of a 10 gallon tank on it's end, so that the length becomes the height, is 12x10x20, so the surface area is actually nearly identical to the 12x12x18.
