Default Help, my toad has a bad leg!

Hello all! My husband purchased a tank and four toads for me as a gift (in February) and one them always looked a bit odd. His leg is now very swollen and it seems quite bad. The frog does not appear to be in any pain and still moves about the tank with ease and has no trouble catching crickets. I could really use any advice that you may have and I wish my husband had done more research prior to getting the sweeties for me! I can't find anything similar on the Internet at all!

Thanks so much for your help!!!

you might want to take him to a vet who specializes in amphibians. I would take him out of the tank with the other frogs and quarantine him, so they don't get infected incase it is a disease or a bacteria. Put him in a little critter keeper, and just keep an eye on him for a couple days. If the swelling goes down, or disappears all together, then put him back with the others. Do you think there was a way he could have broken it, or cut it and it got infected? How quickly did it swell up?

It swelled up slowly over the course of a month. I feel bad not have noticed how bad it was but it was so gradual until the last week. There are no hazards in the tank and I took him out and looked closely at it (he really did t appreciate this) there is no injury there at all.
