I have a heat cable for my leopard gecko. My cord gets around 110*-120*F. If I had the money I would get a temperature control device, but I dont, so I put layers of cork board under some paper towels so the tank floor doesnt get too hot.

I have no idea however how it would heat water from under the tank or anything like that. sorry if im no help. just wanted to post.

    Hi All,

    HELP !!!!
I am narrowing it down ??? I really need some thoughts on this equipment which I would be using under the tanks - but not touching the glass.

    this heat mat -
( never touching the glass -13.5 " X 36" ** the span of tanks is 55"---I could center it under both tanks leaving areas w/out being heated)

Kane Heat Mats for Less at Big Apple Herp

or this cable (might be difficult to attach to the metal shelf? )

Save on Flexible Heat Rope for Reptile Cages

    definitively with this thermostat

BAH-1000DC Reptile Thermostat New Model - Incredibly Reliable Digital Chip for Accurate Temperature Control

( 6' probe could be put inside of the tank --on the floor )

    placed here-

between these 2 metal shelves ( shelves are 1-3/4" apart )
the tanks sit on the top shelf

    Thanks Lynn

    Steph,
    Thanks for the reply.
I agree, the thermostat is probably worth the investment.
I am going to need some help w/ this, for sure.
My hanging ceramic heat emitters I am currently using are really a fire hazard.
The lining inside the ceramic base on the dome fixtures breaks down-then starts to heat the cord!!!! They just don't last !

there's alot of reviews on flex watt on youtube. If it were me and i was trying to heat a row of tanks i'd probably go with flex watt hooked to some kind of thermostat

for a thermostat i'd probably go with something with a digital readout of current temp if it were me
