Ok, Big Bertha, my female African Bullfrog, loves to hide in her hut, but it's way too small for her (she squeezes in anyway though). But whenever I get her log huts they rot because of the moisture, and I don't want her sleeping with any kind of nasty fungus.
So I bought the biggest hide hut I could and used a product called shellac on it. It's a wood finish/sealer, and it says it dries completely non-toxic. I figured sealing it would prevent moisture from causing it to rot. Do you think this will be safe for her? Anyone have experience with this product?

Hi Bruce,
I do not know anything about bull frogs.
However, I would not use this shellac.
I believe it could leach into B Bertha's water?
I also starts to breakdown after a while when exposed to the "elements". ie constant water/dampness
It may say it is waterproof, but not permanently.
Check it out: This can be cleaned on a regular basis! This company has terrific products! I use their planter.
