    Default emergancy care

Please dont let this happen to you!I went to the emergency room and did not get home from the hospital for 1 week. I have 9 terrariums of frogs and geckos. My pets suffered because i do not have someone willing to deal with crixs etc. My plants were not watered the waterdishes were empty or dirty. I was out of crix for feeding as my crix supply was low and not watered. My family tried but my pets were not on the priority list of things to do and I was not able to give detailed instructions. Please have a plan in case of emergency

    sajane,
I'm so sorry, and hope you are feeling better.

    This is a terrific post!
We all go through so much trouble to take good care of our frogs.
Several months ago my husband and I realized that he would be unable to care for some of 'my' pets properly.
(mostly my discus fish and my frogs) My tortoise and the cats are easy !

    I have a little tip:
I have a weekly plan in a note book w/ instructions of what a typical week of care should be.
I wrote instructions for each day of the week for each pet's care.

It includes Vet #'s and info for FF/ the names of people here for him to get advice from!

I prepared it just like I would have if I were leaving a child w/ a sitter.

Oh my word. I hope your doin better Sajane.

Yaknow, I was in the hospital last year in march for almost a week and I wonder what would have happened if I had had my babies at that time. I live in our finished attic and I it would be hard for mum to get up the stairs (very steep and narrow with no hand rail...and a broken step @.@). Not to mention mom cringes when she sees my crickets and once Percy jumped on her and she squealed so loud I think the neighbors heard her. X3 And dad...dad dosn't like bugs and he cringes whenever I hold one of my frogs. D: With my back the way it is I might end up in the hospital or at least out patient surgery at some point and even at that mom wouldn't let me up to my own room, she'd make me sleep downstairs where they could keep an eye on me in case I react to something or rip my stitches (done this before. HURTS LIKE HELL).

I'm so glad I saw this thread one for the reminder that it could easily happen from you, Sajane, but also Lynn's weekly plan idea. If its a none emergency then we could move the tanks downstairs before hand and if I'm not able to carry out the routine I should have an emergency plan that someone else could easily follow.

    You guys are awesome!
