Thread: help identify this frog

    Default help identify this frog

    just curious as to what species this frog is. i keep finding one on the upper shelves of my grill, so its a climber. it kind of looks like a wood frog, but without the two lines running down its back. the closest i would guess is a mink frog, but i live in massachusetts and this should be too far south for their range. by the way, the frog is just over 2 inches long.

    Looks like a Hyla versicolor (Grey Tree Frog). I have two of these guys I caught last summer in my backyard.

    Wow, thanks. That makes sense as that would explain the color change. I figured it was likely the same frog that seems to like my grill. Looking forward to learning more about these guys now that I know what they are.
