Once again, a toad had fallen victim of my damned edger. Only this one survived. It's the 3rd one I've in 2 years. And in all 3 instances they were hiding in the trench between the sidewalk and lawn. The one I hit today has several superficial marks on it's back, one very small gash that's bleeding and, unfortunately, a very badly damaged leg. I did a quick google and read that injured reptiles should be kept warm and dry. So I've placed it in small box lined in straw and placed it in the garage as it's fairly cool out tonight. I registered in hopes of getting any kind of advice on what I should do. I love these little guys and, at the moment, cannot bring myself to put it out of it's misery. Right now it's still alive and occasionally repositions itself. The odd thing is that the skin on it's back is dry and hollow. I don't know what to do.
