I hope the picture is clear enough, if not I can try to post more. Do you think my froglet, Jupiter, is doing ok? He seems to stay at the bottom of the tank, not moving most of the time. Sometimes he shoots straight up to the top for air, but sinks back down right away. Sometimes he'll swim around for a few seconds, and sometimes he'll start fidgetting weirdly or run into the side of the tank and freak out. I have other froglets in another tank, and they behave a little differently. They swim smoothly and don't seem to freak out and spend a lot of time swimming around and floating near the top. Jupiter spends so much more time on the bottom, not moving.
Jupiter's behavior does not sound so unusual to me. While it is a bit odd that he acts different than the other froglets, I wouldn't be too worried. I've had some froglets that are very shy like Jupiter and some that are very brave. They are all different like you said. He would probably feel more comfortable with lots of hiding places. I used a tiny log/cave type thing and small fake plants.
Hi. Thanks for your response. I moved him to a larger tank today and fed him a tiny bit of raw beef. He seems to be doing much better. He is swimming around, getting larger and floating around on top like the ones in the other tank.![]()
