Some updates of my ornate.
Thinking it's a female cause of the rate of growth.

no def not a sign of male. I have 15 frogs now and I've had several females that had lots of black on the throat. 2 that I have now have lots of nice clean black spots just like this ornate Gorgia has posted . more often than not males DO have a very blurry unorganized black color to the throat. but throat color is always subject to the individual. this looks female to me.

Here is what a male looks like. Look at his thumb closest to him. See the brown coloring. Thats a boy

Yep....Mike & Bobby know what's up. Throat coloring is never a determining factor of sex in our experience either. It's all about the Nuptual Pads & the calling!!

The only time the dark spots are a dead giveaway for a male is when the spots look like they intersect, but that is just the darkening of the vocal sac from the frog calling. almost like bruising from calling so much.
