Hi Guys.
Just a tiny update on the purchase of my newly bought, first ever, Ceratophrys ornata!
After many weeks of rejoice, I finally got to the danish Reptile- and terrarium expo in Rødovre.
At the expo i found my frog beside with some other ornatas, some cranwellis and a few cornutas. (bought frog the kind people of Animalfarm cz, ANIMAL FARM)
Anyway, got home and made a wonderful setup with, ofc., the standards (waterbowl, humidity and temp. sensors, coco husk etc.), a bark hide, some moss and a beautiful Neoregelia (thanks for the advice GrifTheGreat).
As for now, the backdrop is an old Earth, Wind and Fire recordcover because my intended backdrop was to small lol
Just fed Jabba his first mealworms today, he devoured them completely!
Btw, have you guys experienced your frogs accidently eating quite a bit of soil when trying to grab its food? If yes, what to do about it?
Thanks for all the advises etc. that you guys have provided, it has been a great help!
Here's some pics of the whole thing.
Leave a comment or something...
Holla at ya!

I wouldn't worry, I have 15 frogs. and they all gulp Eco Earth going after worms and mice. I would just make sure you feed him safe earthworms. this will keep his poop really soft

I would also remove that moss. there is no reason for it. it can actually get tangled inside them causing severe impaction.

I agree with Bobby. Also stop feeding him mealworms. their exoskeleton is comprised of a dense chitin that your frog cannot digest and can become impacted(severely constipated) which can lead to death.
Jabba looks great by the way.
Affirmative, moss is removed.. The mealworms i have given jabba was white ones that just completed sloughing. Will get some earthworms though!
Jabba does look good! make sure you don't get Earth worms from a gas station. make sure they are captive bred w NO TOXINS. so try to find out where they are from and that they are free of chemicals. Also dont feed him wild ones EVER. they are filled w parasites than can kill Jabba or at least make him very sick. good luck!

How about crickets and grasshoppers? Is that a good idea? I work in a place producing grasshoppers, crickets, mealworms, dubias etc.![]()
Crickets & grasshoppers are much better than Mealworms. In fact, Dubia would be the BEST staple food to feed your Pacman then Mealworms.
Congrats on your new addition!
