Hello everyone,
My name is Debra and I live in Squaw Valley, CA. That is, the city, in the foothills East of Fresno, not the ski resort, which resides in the city of Olympic Valley.
Just thought I'd clear that up right away as everyone seems to get confused by it, even the post office.
I do not own frogs. Well, no live ones anyway, unless you count the ones that live on my property, though I would love to have some of the beautifully colored frogs someday. Hopefully I can learn enough about keeping frogs to make myself more comfortable in actually keeping some.
I adore frogs and toads and always have. Hence, the name Frogsong, short for my studio name - Frogsongstudio.
I paint, I'm a silversmith, and I'm a Lampworker. (Hot Glass Artist) As an artist and a frog lover, I'm always looking for great photos of frogs to use as models in my work. That's how I found this forum.
I was looking for frog images. It's easy to find them - harder to find those that come with permission to use. So hopefully, once you all get to know me better, you won't mind showing me your photos and granting permission for me to use them as models. I would so much appreciate it.
I can't wait to read this forum and learn more about the care of frogs. I've always held off buying pet frogs because I don't have any idea how to take care of them, and having worked at a pet shop before, I know they will tell you pretty much anything to make a sale, and most don't know what they are talking about. Not me, I only took care of the animals. I did very few sales probably because I'm too honest. I remember one particular lady came in to buy her child a $6.00 hamster and I talked her into buying a $2.00 rat instead. Hamsters are evil little things. Needless to say, I don't make a great salesperson.
We had a lot of snakes and lizards, but no frogs, so I didn't learn anything about their care while I worked there.
Anyway, I'm off to read and learn.
Deb
