I use a standard aquarium light. Hours vary on the day, but generally around 6-7 hours. Some days none if I forget to turn the light on.

The light is the same kind that comes in the "tank kits" that fit right in the hood - - nothing fancy is needed for this plant to grow. No C02 required or fertilizers.
