Looking for a plant to put at the bottom of the viv with broad leaves, generally doesnt grow more than 18 inches and wont take over the entire viv, any recommendations? I was thinking dwarf umbella, but leaves may not be big enough and I believe it will grow up to five feet.
Thanks
You don't want umbrella plants because the sap in the leaf stems and the stock of the plant is very poisonous.
I like Zebra Plants which have some nice color, stay fairly small and are easy to grow.

Some versions of Cryptanthus work great too. I have some in a dart tank that started at 4 inch height plants and 1 1/2 years later are about 9 inches high, have nice broad leaf and are simple to grow.

1.0.0 Red Eyed Leaf/ Frog - Agalychnis callidryas
1.1.1 Bumblebee Dart Frog - Dendrobates leucomelas
1.1.0 Dendrobates truncatus - Yellow Striped
1.1.1 Dendrobates tinctorius – Bakhuis Mountain
1.1.0 - Dendrobates tinctorius - Powder Blue
1.1.0 - Ranitomeya vanzolinii
How about a Maranta, aka prayer plant? They stay pretty low, the leaves are fairly thin though but quite broad. They make a nice cover for the lower parts of a viv but not great as stand alone perches.
There are trailing kinds of Peperomia obtusifolia that don't grow very tall, the leaves aren't enormous but are very fleshy and sturdy. The upright versions might work for you as well- it takes a few months to hit your 18" mark, then you can just cut the top 5" or so off and stick it back in the ground.
Welcome to FF. Enjoy !
There is a list of plants here w/ links to photos.
