First of all, remove it to the hospital tank (just another plastic tank), using paper (black color/ newspaper) to cover all sides of the tank in order to prevent the frog smash the tank again and reduce the stress....

Of course, in side the hospital tank, you should provide a water dish and using a small box to housing the crickets to monitor it's appetite. If the rostral abrasion is very serious, the frog will stop eating.

    Hope this helps,

Pls see above message. Plants and lighting are optional, simply setting is the best! Temp range from 21-30 degree is ok, if the temp is too low, add a heat mat below the tank

yeah i know i dont feel moving the lesser injured of the two would be of help. Like i said before, there is hardly any glass for them to even bump into in the set up so i feel it would be very stressful to move them into a smaller container now. i am in contact with dr frye. about the other frog though and he will hopefully be able to help me out.

Mine came in as part of a wild caught shipment. Died before I could take her to the vet and find out what was wrong.
Completely agree with separating them. All 7 other frogs that came in with this frog died back to back.

A cricket keeper is fine as a quarantine tank. Use spring water and papertowles on the bottom. Add a glass feeder dish in the bottom of tank and put a large leaf like from a Peace Lilly in it. Change out the water & papertowels during the day when the frog sleeps. Watch for poop and keep a record of food intake and how often the frog poops.. this way if you do contact a vet about the frog they will have some history to look at as well as current condition.

When a frog is sick other animals may prey or pick on it. Being in a tank with others is more than likely more stress than you handling it to put it into a quarantine tank.
If you do keep it in the big tank watch it closely. It is possible for bacteria, parasites, and other "problems" to infect the other animals also so be sure to watch them as well. It would be heartbreaking to have mass deaths, which is what I just went through with a new shipment although they were all quarantined separately once they arrived to me.

I just want to emphasize the importance of quarantine. Even though you thought that the newly acquired frog is in very good condition, you should separate it from existing collections and keep it in the quarantine tank to monitor the health of the frog for 1-3months (if possible conducting fecal examination and anthelmintics).

In your case, I think that your setting is fine. You just bought a sick RETF. And without autopsy, it is difficult to know the cause of death.

Well, we lost one today. The other two both look sick also with the same thing on there eye one worse than the other. They are in a separate container and we will hope for the best but I'm expecting the worst.
