My Pixies moved to their new enclosures

I've decided to move both Ramadi and Akhdar from their plastic tubs to an aquarium but soon after their transfer they started digging under the drift woods and hasn't left or moved ever since. I can still take some photos of Ramadi since she's still showing and cannot go under because of the position of her drift wood but Akhdar is totally hidden most of the time but he is showing his face from time to time.

I tried arranging Akhdar's set up and he went ballistic on the first day...It was a total mess...I think they have their own way of telling you when they are not happy. I tried some few arrangements until we came to an agreement...LOL...I almost lost my patience every time he would try to displace his driftwood and uproot the two plants that I placed inside his enclosure thinking that it would somehow offer him some comfort and when I saw him starting to settle I offered him his first mouse for the first time.

Ummm I don't believe you need to leave your negative comments here and those Pyxies are not being killed by how he's feeding them. They are perfectly healthy. Also as was stated above he said it was the frog's FIRST!!!!! MOUSE!!!! So where ever you're seeing him abusing his frogs and or killing them I'd just don't see it and I'm pretty sure no one else does either.

Have you ever been around African Bull Frogs? Thy are a very heavily bodied species and tend to get quite large it's not uncommon for a adult female to weigh 2.5-3 pounds as being one of his is make 4 pounds is the norm he's not over feeding the frogs look fine and nice are safe as long as its only one per month or less! Please try and research the animal on question and read the whole thread before attacking a member

umm... i missed the part about first rat i am in the rong sorry.... but as for 4lbs female idk about that most males dont get that larg its not to say thay cant but the norm is 2-3lbs i my self have a 800+gram male and a 340+ female it looks to me that the fat around the legs and lower neck is a bit much thats all im trying to say if anyone hase a 4lb female i would like to see a pic of it on a scale ....ive only got a few pics on my profile but yea i do and have owned lots of pixies

I don't own a Pyxie and am no expert, but you're right about the weights. Females are usually. around 2.75 pounds to 3. Males can be 4 pounds to 5. Most of the heavy weights occur in the wild though.

I am a little bit concerned by the big throat of your female.
Usually, its is common when frogs are overfed, mainly with too much rodents.

Is she always like this or was it only during you took the pictures ?
