We have 3 Hyla Chinensis and the female for the past 48 hours has been spawning. I am afraid this is too long?
She seems calm and has spent the past 48 hours in 3 areas - but the dusky pink coloured spawn is not getting bigger nor does it detach itself from her as she has moved.
QUESTIONS: do i enter the enclosure and physically try to remove the spawn? I am terrified of stressing her too much and also not being able to remove any spawn still inside?
is it normal to have such a lengthy spawning period? 48 hours seems very long to me but then again perhaps this can happen with this type of frog?
My main concern is for her health - whether there is healthy fertile spawn is irrelevant at this stage.
I have tried to research as much as possible but there is very little available online talking about length of time spawning.
ANY help/advice at all will be greatly appreciated?
