Are you using coco fiber such as Eco-Earth or are you using coco husk chunks?

I highly recommend using the fiber version of Eco-earth or even Zilla's Plantation Soil which you can plant directly into as long as you have a drainage layer.
If your planting bromeliads then I would attach to something such as driftwood, placed into a piece of cork round or stuck into the background so the base of the plant does not rot quickly.
Coco husk chunks won't work supporting plants and are usually a swallowing hazard to most frogs.
