Ok, lots of people have problems with thier frogs eating....It's ok, don't get your panites/boxers/speedos/bannana hammocks... in a wad. The frogs can go quite some time without eating; in the wild they go months at a time with no food when necessary. We don't want to have them go months without food. We want them fat and happy. So What do we do when they seem to not want to eat????
1st. Watch this video. You will see my Ornate horned frog "Rhino" who was a very finikie eater when I first got her/him. She was only fed fish, and mice with the occasional worm. If feed worms, and roaches, with the occasional cricket. So there was a transition period when I had to use her natural aggression to get her to eat.
You will see me bring to 1/2 of a worm toward Rhino slowly (Don't scare em) and move it from side to side. Also small movements up and down but not over her head (don't scare em!!). You'll notice Rhino at one point gets her stance (kinda flinches)...this is her getting ready to bite out of hunger. This is a good sign your frog wants to eat. She doesn't strike initially...Why not?? she may have changed her mind....maybe got spooked...who knows?? I don't know or care. I bumped the tip of her mouth (right below the top jaw, on the bottom lip), you'll see she opens her mouth just slightly. She is angry. She then strikes the worm and eats it. Thats how its done!!
Now if you do this and your frog opens it's mouth but won't lunge and bite, just stick the worm/cricket/whatever....not spagetti.....into the frogs mouth and hold it. When your little friend bites down, release. If your frog spits it out, try again...hold the prey longer this time and maybe wiggle it just slightly to stimulate clamping down.
To clarify...Everything I described above starts once you see the worm. I was just dicking around with the camera prior to that.
Good luck folks... Hope this helps and can be used for millenia to come.
Here's the effing video!!!! hehe ENJOY!!! Yer friend DeeDub

Nice video Deedub. I like how you can see the worm moving on the side of your frog's belly after being eaten. You have a good-looking Ornate.
Thanks!
