Adding Reputation

Hey y'all. You may have noticed the little green box(es) under your name when you post. It's reputation. I just wanted to point out that you can add reputation to a user if they post something useful.
It's a fun way to say thank you for good information.

How to do it:

On a post that deserves reputation, look to the bottom. There will be buttons that say, Blog this post, and Thanks. Next to the Thanks button is a Star. Click the Star and click Approve or Disapprove. You can leave a comment below the approve and disapprove options. I recommend leaving comments so the person you are giving reputation to knows why they received it.

How reputation works:

The more reputation points you have decides how much your reputation means when you give it to someone else. For example, if you have a lot of reputation points, the reputation you give will be positive (green). If you don't have a lot of reputation points, it will be neutral (gray).

Yes I feel not enough people know about this option... I get alot of likes for my advice and comments but rarely rep added and I wish it was easier when I make sure I don't just guess... I am careful with my posts and only comment what I know about and ask lots of questions when I dont know or google it lol. I see people that just answer randomly without knowledge or research or experience and its frustrating at times lol.

I didn't realize when I first started that since no one's given me any reputation (feh) that I can't add to anyone's. And I neglected to write comments as to why, so it looks like I just gave those people neutral rep. Next time I feel moved to add to a users rep, I'm going to be sure to add WHY I think they deserved it. I want rep too, but I'll have to earn it. With my one toad, (that I love love love!), it'll be a long while if ever, but that's ok. I'm fine with having that new member funk.
