Last July my daughter brought me some tadpoles from her work from the fire bellied toad tank. They are now toads and doing very well. Two are quite green, one is brown with green up the middle of the back and the other is brown, all of them are yellow on the underside with yellow dots on their toes (are they toes??) The question is: Will they turn red/orange as they mature? Also I put approx 8-10 crickets in the tank every day - could I be over feeding them? I like to do it everyday cause not sure who is eating the most of the 8-10 that I put in. I have tried taking them out of the tank to feed but it stresses them out (me too) so prefer not to do that) I put the crickets on a floating turtle shelf and the toads know to go there (of course some crickets try to swim away) Should I be introducing worms?
Have you tried gut loading the crickets? I feed mine Flukers orange cubes or a combination of Flukers cricket food and the yellow gel. I've heard of feeding crickets carrots too but not sure if that works. I've heard some FBTs have yellow bellies naturally though.
I just started feeding the crickets the Flukers orange cubes, haven't heard of yellow gel. I don't mind the yellow bellies
Cool. You got any pics? I just want to see your toads
