Ok so I have a HUGE Custom vivarium set up with 10 mixed dart frogs (2 Leus, 3 Azureus, 2 Costa Rican Green and Blacks, 1 Nicaraguan green and black, and 2 Auratus) Now my question is my fiance decided to bring home a White's Tree Frog froglet would it be safe to put the baby White's in my Dart Frog Vivarium it measures 7.5ft long x 4ft tall x 2.5ft deep.
It isnt wise to mix species. Different frogs release different toxins that can be harmful to one another. Also, the care requirements for dart frogs and tree frogs are very different. Simple answer is no.
Listen to Omar. Your Whites would most definetly die and if it managed to survive to a larger size it would try to eat the Darts and inevitably still die. Do not place any other species in with your Dart frogs. Its a disaster waiting to happen.
If you have a spare 10 gallon laying around with some fake leaves logs etc. You can stand that bad boy upright and he could have a nice home until he out grows it. Thats how I have my baby right now. Fake plants, log, a pothos vine thats growing, water dish, paper towl substrate. I have a screen lid on the front opening with alittle more than half of of the opening covered in seran wrap to retain humidity, and screen lid locks. I can post pictures when I get home at 11pm central time.![]()
The pics would be great and that's kinda what I was figuring that I couldn't mix them with out sever problems I got a few dozen empty tanks it's just the guy she bought the baby from said "Oh they get along great...." what a d bag lol
lol yeah man, they are just out there to make that sale, unfortunately. It's not always the case though. When I got my baby White's at Petco, the lady was surprisingly knowledgeable. Asking if I have kept frogs and when I told her yes, I currently keep an RETF, she proceeded to ask if I was going to house the baby White's with him and I promptly said no. Anyway, I'll snap some pics tonight when I get home from work.
Hey man, I didn't forget about you. Anyway, here's my White's set up, temporary until he gets big. Gives me time to acquire a nice enclosure and build it. But yeah basic, standard 10 gallon upright, drift wood log going upward, a fake vine, some fake plants, that red cup contains a bit of water and a pothos vine from my longer pothos plant, water dish, heat mat on the side, my temp/humidity gauges, and some paper towel substrate. Only thing I didnt include in the pics was the screen lid with locks that I put on the now "front" that used to be the "top" of the tank and the plastic wrap I put on there to retain humidity. He's absolutely content in there so far so there shouldn't be any problems. Just make sure not to hover over him a lot for about a week or two so he gets accustomed to his new home. Just go into his tank for water changing, spot cleaning, misting, feeding. Cover up 3 sides of the tank too so he feels secure.

I'm just confused on how you keep the screen top from falling off...
The clip locks hold it on.![]()

Snapped a couple more photos today after a good misting before work.
Here's the screen lock clip I was talking about.
As you can see it serves two purposes for me, locks the screen down to the tank and I'm able to hang my light from it so the light goes over the screen part and doesnt have to sit on the glass top

I can post some pics but the only camera I have at the moment is my cell phone so the pics aren't the best
