My frog Verde hasn't eaten in a little over a weak, so I started looking online to see what could be wrong with it. I came to the conclusion that it was redleg. So i went out and bought a box of Maracyn two (i haven't used any of it yet). I'm still unsure if it is definitely redleg or not. If you guys can just tell me what you think based on the pics below and info I've given you, i'd highly appreciate it.
this last pic shows a scrape on her face, which has been there since i got her.
this picture was a few days ago when the frog on top was still alive. I thought the red-brown color was just a natural change they do due to their environment.
Additional info:
-She is still active at night
-humidity is kept at 50
-temp is kept at 80 day, 75 night (overhead lamp with UV bulb)
-the last i've seen poo in the tank was 2 days ago
-waterbowl is changed every day
I would take her to a vet but the closest one is 45 minutes from my house, and I don't want to worsen it's condition by stressing it out from a long car ride.
Hi I think that your frog MAY have redleg. I am not sure because I do not study frog sicknesses. I am very sorry for your loss of your other frog. It's more than likely the first frog had redleg and gave it to Verde. I think that your humidity may be Little low, try easing it to 60-75. ( Don't get it too humid when your frog is sick it may cause bacteria). I understand that you are doing the best you can for Verde and your vet situation. I think that the best chance of your beloved Verde living is if you took her to the vet. I would hope other members see and comment on this thread and make sure it is releg that is the problem. I would also include how long has it been since you have noticed this? Best of luck
ps. I have no idea what to do with the maracyn and you may want to try force feeding her and putting her in a hospital tank

Thank you so much for your input FrogLoving17. Maracyn is a medicine meant for fish, i've red on several sites that it can be used to treat redleg.
I have it currently isolated in a hospital tank with a small water bowl with a cricket roaming around as well. she has been that dark color for 2 days when I was first concerned about her current condition. :\
Dave,
I came across this earlier today. Down at the bottom you will notice a section talking about treating fungus. I am NOT a frog specialist, but I do find that people on this forum are very helpful:
"Fungus on skin.
Red Leg, Pseudomonas, Hydrophila.
Use the water area of a quarantine vivarium and add 0.6% SALT by volume. Make sure that the frog gets in the water often. Duration 6 weeks (refresh water often). Use a solution of 0.2% MERBROMIN (MERCUROCHROME)on areas of the frog with fungus, rinse after several minutes. "
I appreciate those of you who have replied, however I am sorry to inform you that Verde passed this morning.
I am so so sorry for your loss. Though you did the best you could for Verde. He is now in Froggy heaven
