So I'm going to be converting an old 20 gallon long into a super tall tree frog enclosure. I was wondering what to use for the background. Where do you get GS Foam? Would that be my best option? Thanks in advance.
Anyone? Bump!

GS foam can be purchased in any hardware store.
It depends on what type of background you're looking to create. There are several options. Any ideas of what type of style you'd like to create? Waterfall? Wall of plants? Perches? Rockwall?
GS works well, as does styrofoam for cutting shapes. You can use both, or cut into GS after it dries to create shapes, shelves, plant holders, waterfalls, water-bowl holders, vines, etc. You can use 100% aquarium silicone to "glue" things together and/or to the walls. You can use silicone over the GS and apply substrate. You can grout over top of it. So many options.
It also depends on what you'll be housing in the tank and what type of needs they have.
I have yet to convert a tank, so I'm not much help there.
There was a site I really liked for making waterfalls. I'll see if I can find it.
Hope this helps.

It's one of my favorite sites. Should stimulate a few fun ideas anyhow.

easiest is GS + silicone + substrate stuck to it. you can get some thick insulation foam and take a drill with a wire attachment and carve out the foam. I personally like using styrofoam to make rock walls that i grout and paint
Can't wait to see it!

there is a black foam that doesn't swell as much. lowes carries by their fountain stuff.
Is it non toxic though? Thanks for the tip I'll look into it when I go to Lowes for supplies.

as non-toxic as the yellow great stuff. however people generally seal it with coco fiber and stuff mixed with silicone. the advantages are it doesn't swell as much and if some is only thinly covered it doesnt show through. you can also grout over it and seal it with dry-lok. there's a new dry-lok product called dry-lok natural , and used over sanded grout looks just like rock.
