First im new here so hoping itll be a awesome learning place. I will be getting my first giant abf this week and have a 10gal for the little dude (he's very young) and have a 55gal waiting for him later my question is I wanna do some live plants in the tank and all but im not sure how well they will grow in coco husk do I was thinking about using organic soil would thatbe possible? Also was noticing that a lot of ppl on here do not recommend heating pads on the back of the tank I was curious why I couldn't I've never kept a amphibian under a heat bulb before always worried it would dry them out also I worry It would hurt my plants in the tank and input is welcome would also love to see people's set up if y'all don't mind thanks for the help

Heating pad or heating cable on the sides of the tank is the best way according to me, if you reach required temps on the substrate.
Then you add a Retiglo 2.0 UVB 13W for example as light source.
Yes, Basking spot is more agressive , but in africa, sun can be agressive too
If you use a basking spot, it's a spot without UVB's that you have to use (Only UVA's).
Try to not go over 60W and keep your substrate moist + air humidity at level of 70%-80%.
Put some hidding parts in the tank also (Wood barks, plants...etc...)
Those frogs need to hide, they feel more safe.
Advantage of basking spot is that it creates a hot spot.
