While cleaning my tank a few hours ago one of my green frog tadpoles (over 2" long, with budding back legs) got startled, then jumped out of the tank, falling 3 feet onto the hardwood floor. when i picked it up, it didn't move initially but swam fine the moment i put it back into the tank. the only thing i notice now is that there are questionable signs of internal bleeding in the ventral fin of the tail (some reddening but this may have already been there) but the abdomen looks fine with no change in color/swelling. it's been several hours now and it seems to be swimming/moving fine without any changes. does anyone have any sense of how this will turn out? i'd imagine that since it's a mature tadpole, it's probably more resilient and less fragile than a younger one (after all frogs do leap and their abdomens do suffer some force on impact) but i would like some input. i've separated it from the other tadpoles so it doesn't get nibbled at if it starts to move slowly. thanks
I don't know much about tadpoles at all at this point but I will say a prayer for the poor little one. I really hope that if there was any injury it will heal without a trace.
