Thread: Lima Wood?

    Default Lima Wood?

Last week I was at my local PetsMart and in the bird section I came across across this wood. It was sold in different lengths and I guess it's used to to let a parrot climb on. It's curled and almost looks like monkey ladder. The packing label said it was from Peru or Argentina...I can't remember where.

I bought a couple pieces and put them in my anole's cage. I mist the cage twice a day and the wood seems to be holding up.

Has anyone ever used this wood in a frog tank?

    Hi Happy Frog,
I saw this as well recently!
It seems to be very, very dense wood ( tight grain).
I wonder , too, how it would hold up to the humidity?

i got the spirally piece running from the upper left, at petsmart..called wacky wood. this piece has been directly over my water feature and gets wet every water change. no mold or any problems for any of the inhabitants. added..been in the tank for 7.5 months so far.
