So last night I was playing around with my laser pointer just kind flashing it around my room, my parakeet just kinda stares at it and wonders if he can eat it. I got the wonderful idea of seeing if my American toad would go for it, and he most certainly did. As soon as I flashed it by him he started stalking it like he does with crickets. I put the light on the background and the toad immeadiatly started trying to snap it up. I stopped shining it so he didn't hurt himself trying to get to it, but I thought it was just great. So if your frog ever needs exercise you know what to do! XD

Interesting considering every where I have been reading, amphibians cannot see red lighting and people always say that using red night lighting will not bother them. This kind of proves that theory wrong lol. Also be careful that laser light probably wouldn't be good for his eyes if you accidentally hit him in the eye with it![]()
It's common knowledge and generally accepted in the hobby that frogs do indeed see red (and blue). Some just seem to be less bothered by these colours.
Nice "find" nevertheless. Could actually be good as a exercise, like you said.
Yeah, I'm careful about keeping it away from the eyes as I am with all my other pets.I just didn't expect him to get so excited by it. haha
