    Default Cat's Claw?

    Hi All,
Does anyone have any knowledge of the use of “Cat’s Claw” (Uncaria tomentosa)
( a woody vine native to the Amazon rainforest and other places in South and Central America ) to help boost a frogs immune system?
Apparently the use of an alcohol free version of it ( found ie health food store) can be use to create a bath for a frog.
It has been used to reduce the (opportunistic) bacterial and fungal infections that frogs are commonly affected by due to exposed to stress.

Wow, Lynn! That's such an interesting question! Are you thinking of planting it in your vivarium? It's a beautiful plant. Or, are you thinking of treating a frog?
I would love to know if anyone has any info on this...

    Hi Lindsey,
I had not thought of planting it? That is a really great idea!!! I read an article on it - specifically for frogs . ( can not find the article in my Google history)
It was based on an Australian research study. I'll share wen I find it. Let's look for seeds ???? I love projects like this.
I found the supplement in a wild by nature - but it was tablet form. The liquid is readily available online. I would not use it unless I was VERY certain it was 100% safe.
(The reason this caught my eye ---- I have a A. moreletii that is giving me trouble eating on her own.

    Talk to you soon!

Ahh, i see. I'm all for herbal remedies when appropriate, but yes, you have to be certain it's safe... I wonder if planting cats claw in a viv would have preventative effects? This is so interesting, I'm going to do more research also.
Good luck with your little girl...
