apple wood safe for whites

hi iv been given some branches off an apple tree and was wondering if it was safe to use in my tank for my whites tree frogs. obviously i plan to make sure its thoroughly cleaned. no pesticides have been used on it either but i know some stuff just isnt suitable for them. if anyone knows if this is or isnt safe could they let me know. its a perfect shape and size so fingers crossed its ok
