They dont burrow however, I find UTH to be useless under the tank no matter what. On my red eye's tank, the UTH would have to penetrate hydro ball layer plus cocofiber layer, thus not heating the enclosure like it should. I still use them on the side even with my tree frogs. I put them at the lower back sides of the enclosures.
I use UTH's but I am starting to realize that its not heating the taller tanks enough. Azy spends most of her time at the bottom of the tank where its warmest.
I think when I get Azy's larger tank I'll have a UTH with some sort of dimmer or something where I can control the heat, lowering it a bit durring the day and having it higher at night while using a daylight bulb durring the day. I think thats the best for my girl. She dislikes the light at night so I think a nightlight bulb would be a waist but a UTH would keep the temps even from the heat absorbed by the tanks substraight and various items durring the day. Different frogs (even of the same species) have different wants and needs. I would get a daylight bulb if you dont already since it helps promote normal behavior and helps them absorber calcium better but either UTH or a nightlight bulb at night is up to your frogs preferences.
I would say they finally labeled one right. It looks like a white lip to me. X3
woohoo!! go petsmart! <3 lol
thanks so much for the advice!!
she already ate for me tonight! =)
woohoo! took down 2 crickets and 2 red wigglers when i was feeding the boys. I didn't expect her to eat so soon! Tank took a week to eat, and Bruce took about 4 days to settle in enough to eat
Nice, my baby white's ate the 2nd night in his home lol. I remember my RETF going about a week before eating after putting him in his new enclosure from his old one.
ive heard so many things about how whites eat anything and everything that moves
