Hi everyone, this is my first post...
Basically, Ive been a long term keeper of snakes and lizards (last 15 years) and I'm now looking at getting a group of fire belied toads.
Now I keep dubia roaches already so i am going to use these as a staple feeder (I can't be bothered with the hassle of crickets) but I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on using small fish and bloodworms as feeders also?
Ideally I would like to breed a colony of small fish (maybe guppies?) as a regular feeding source...
If anyone can give me any advice that would be awesome..
Thanks![]()
I offer mine fish from time to time but not on a regular basis as I've heard they are hard to digest. Also my FBTs love an occasional meal worm or worms such as red wigglers or night crawlers that have been cut in half. Fruit flies are easy to raise and they sometimes like those as a snack. My FBTs will eat or try to eat anything that moves. But be careful when feeding them insects with hard shells because they can become impacted. I've had FBTs for 10 years with no feeding problems.
thanks for the reply
I will probably avoid mealworms as I think they are a rubbish food source... cool, i shall probably just go for a fish as a treat and stick to roaches and earth/blood worms...
