I personally would not put a betta in with firebellies. I have only had white cloud minnows in with mine. They are a pretty fast fish. My firebellies are fed every other day, so they are not interested in making the fish a snack. Below is a pic of my setup. There is about 10 gallons of water and 6 white cloud at the moment. I have an extra 10 gallon tank setup for excess babies if/when I need to move them.

Now that is a pretty sexy set up. I have a 20 gallon long laying around and now brainstorming some ideas. Thank you for posting this!

How many could I get away with in a 20 long? I assume they are good swimmers? Gonna have to do more homework on these guys.

I would say five or six. I have five in my twenty nine gallon, which is the same length and width of a twenty long. The only difference is the height. Mine is eighteen inches tall,a twenty long is twelve.( My tablet is acting up and won't let me put numbers so I am having to write them out)

Awesome, looks like I have a little upcoming project on my hands then.

    Thanks!

Okay. I will be aiming to place a shoal of neon or cardinal tetras with rummynose tetras in a well planted aquarium. What are the firebellies chances at nabbing them? For those who don't know, the fish also require moderately acidic water. Will that be fine?
