So I walked into this local reptile shop in the cities where I live to see what they might have to offer. Now mind you, there is a expo rolling through at the end of the month, and I was planning on waiting until then to buy another frog. Anyways I get to the back of the shop where the amphibians are kept. Inside the cage there were 4 pacmans housed together on mounds and mounds of moss. All the crickets in the tank were just as large if not larger than the frogs themselves... There were 2 ornates and 2 albinos. Both the ornates looked close to death, if not dead already... Eyes were sunken in, thin as rails, dry, did not look to be breathing The albinos however looked alert and healthy. Now, IF i could have afforded both I would have rescued them in an instant. However, life being the cruel mistress that she is, I had to make a choice. So, ladies and gentlemen, I introduce the newest pac in the clan, Namco! (Name is subject to change) This one was much more vibrant and rotund than the other specimen. I have a 5.5 gallon tank set up with all the proper conditions met for his or her needs. However, as it is still so very small, I have decided to use a spare cricket container to temporarily house it within the larger tank until it gets a little bigger and I am sure the food won't be able to stay quite so out of his reach
thats sad about the other pacs but good job on saving one!
Life can be very cruel and heartless sometimes. Atleast you saved one. He/she looks good.
You did good...have fun with him/her!
U did a good thing in getting the one u could..
Congrats on ur new Pac.
Nice looking frog Looks like you got to it before it's conditions could cause too much damage.
I almost hate to use the term 'rescue' for buying frogs from commercial stores like that, since it just encourages them to go get more frogs, but that's how I got my pac as well as my goldfish :P Once you see them in those conditions you just can't help but want to get them out of there!
