    Red face I couldn't resist...

Strolling through Petsmart early yesterday getting some crickets, (local shop I usually go to opens late and I work afternoons). Anyway I take a little stroll past the reptile section and I see "Baby Australian White's tree frog". I took a little peek in there and they all looked so adorable. I couldn't help it, I purchased one. I requested the biggest plumpest booger in there and brought it home last night. I want to give this species another shot after the bad luck I had with my last one. I'm trying to let it adjust to its new home so I'm keeping interaction to a minimum (water changing, feeding, misting). It did some exploring last night from what I saw from small peeks every few hours. This morning I turned the lights on and it was sitting on the edge of the water dish and after a bit slowly crept into an opening in the log decoration I have in there lol. Been hiding in there and hasn't slept yet, probably still a bit freaked out. Here's a quick shot I took with my phone before coming to work.

Thanks everyone. I need to think of a name now. This might sound kind of cheesy but I saw a shooting star on my way home with my new pal last night lol. Names could be open to all kinds of stuff having to do with Astronomy, I think.

How about Antlia? I found a list of constellations by month and it was the most unique one for April. :3 But here's the list if you want. Constellations (by month)

Good for you, and I'm sure he/she will be much happier with you than in the hands of some child who would most likely handle it to death.................oops sorry for the little rant.

Well, it seems that he was pleased with my cricket offering last night. Woke up to a glass dish with no crickets So this already is off to a good start. I have yet to see him sleep though! It's strange. Also, whenever I have to get in to the tank to spot clean, mist, change water... He goes to back to that hole in the drift wood, sorta becoming his safe haven... Hopefully he snaps out of that and doesn't stay afraid of me.

I'll update with some photos soon, but he's doing just fine. He's eaten the last two nights. (two crickets each night). He was asleep up top of the tank finally today so I'm pretty sure hes getting accustomed just fine. Since he's such a small little booger, should he be fed every night? I dont want to over feed the little guy. He's already eaten 4-5 crickets this week, not to mention what he probably ate at the pet store...

I saw some at our PetSmart too and was so tempted! Too cute! Glad to hear he's settling in.

Thanks a couple of pics as promised:

He absolutely loves that little hole in the drift wood. He will be legitimately upset when he outgrows it lol.

Here he is lookin' all plump

His appetite is amazing, to say the least. I've offered two crickets a night for the past three nights and he's eaten every single one. Should I cut back or continue with daily feedings since he's still a baby?

Thank you Lynn. Well as I stated earlier in the thread, I saw a shooting star/comet/meteorite or w/e it was lol, when I was on the way home with him/her. After that I wanted something Astronomy related. I think I have settled with Andromeda. Andromeda Galaxy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. If it's in fact a girl, she will remain Andromeda. If it turns out being a boy, I can shorten it to Andro. I think I have finally made my choice on the name
