Default Fake plants with hard bases

I just purchased a fake plant with hard plastic base for my frogs terrarium. Would it be advisable to separate the plants from the base for use so the pac doesn't scrape itself burrowing or will this be alright?

If its sharp I would remove it. I usually buy the ones that are glued to a piece of driftwood. If it isn't sharp you could leave it on and your frog will try to burrow under the base. Mine. Try and burrow under their driftwood.
