My new pixie wont eat.

Three days ago I bought a male Pixie frog and he has not eaten since. I just wanted to know if I am doing it at the wrong time of the day or is he just not hungry yet. I thought they ate everyday while they were young..

Its probably to stressed to eat don't worry about it. It had to get used to its new home

give him a few days without bugging it, it'll come around =) My pyxie ate right away for me, my pac took a week to settle in!

What are your temps ? Humidity ?

If I remember correctly, the temp is 80 and the humidity is 75. The petstore told me to keep it around there.

Try earthworms. It is not time to worry yet. 8 to 10 days without eating. Is the time to worry. Try not to hover over him/her a lot so he/she can adjust to the new home. Do you de-chlorinate your frog's water? Does he act lathargic and sluggish?

Post some pics of your frogs setup and of him/her.

I use the bottled water, and he has a bath to lay in. He just lays there. It might be me because i am so short the tank is eyelevel to me and i have to get right up to the glass..

you have to dechlorinate the water. the chlorine/heavy metals will kill your frog.

Alorra it has to be bottled SPRING water not just bottled water. You can also just buy a de-chlorinating agent and use it in tap water for your frog. You must get him/her fresh Spring water or De-Chlorinated tap water if you do not your frog will be toxed out from the chemicals in the water.

I buy the big containers of Ozarka spring water and use those as main source. Hell I even use it for my cat's water bowl also, as well as me taking a few glasses myself and it lasts a good while. I haven't had any problems what so ever. You can probably save yourself a few bucks by using that stuff.

Sorry Alorra you cant use pure water either. it has to have minerals and salts like spring water and de-chlorinated tap water have. Distilled ans R/O(Reverse Osmosis) water do not have any of these things and can harm your frog if used as a main water source.

It is freshwater. Not distilled and not ro either.
