Default new to the pacman world...help!

OK guys, just some questions about my baby pacman. First, I got him Sunday and he hasn't pooped...at least I don't think so. I think I'd know if he did, right? He has been eating crickets everyday. I have been giving him baby crickets, and tried one a little larger tonight, which he was fine taking.
Also my biggest frustration is the humidity! I have Jaba in a 10 gal tank and I have a screen on top. I covered half the screen with aluminum foil and I have a blue bulb (40w) on the other side of the screen. This keeps my temp at around 75. I mist in the morning and at night. I work all day and when I get home the humidity is like 30! After I mist it goes to 80 or 90. Will jaba be OK? Sorry this is a long one. I just want to make sure my froggie will be healthy. Thanks!

    Hi and welcome .

It's a bit chilly for him. I would purchase an under tank heater (UTH) and place it on one end (side, on the outside) of the tank. There should be a warm end and a cool end so he can chose. His water bowl should be on the cool side. A baby PAC needs daytime temps around 80-82 degrees to digest properly.

I have 2 UTH's to create a warm corner and I almost never need the red light.

If the foil isn't working you can use Saran wrap, glass, or plexiglass over 3/4 of the tank. Be careful not to put heat lamp on or over top of any of them so they don't melt or crack. I had glass cut to cover all but 5" or so. It fits perfectly in the top rim of the tank. Misting the underside of the glass gets it nice and damp in there. I still put the screen top over the glass top. My humidity is stable between 70 to 80% always with the glass on top.

I also made my substrate layer thicker/deeper.

You can also add plants to help keep the moisture in.

I also found that misting with warm water vs cool helps increase it a bit too.

You'll be surprised what a difference it makes.

    Hope these tips help .

I spend a lot of time fiddling with my tank in the beginning too.

doing the plexiglass helped my tank soooo much! I don't have any advice other than what Heatheranne said, but would love to see a pic of your lil guy! I'm glad he's eating so well for you already! =)

Don't be worried about the pooping if he's eating and otherwise seems fine. They don't poop every day, every few days or even about once a week or so is normal. Getting his tank warmer will help him digest his food and humidity will help him pass it along. If you're gone during the day I would get a repti-fogger, they cost about 40-60 dollars but are well worth it, you can use it alone or get a timer for it to keep the humidity where it should be.

thank you so much everyone! I do appreciate the guidance. I'll definitely look into the fogger, too.
