How long to wait to put frog back after using silicone?

I've been working on my terrarium background and was wondering the same thing. I only wanted to stress him out once so I wasn't sure when to actually introduce him to his new home. Thanks for the advice of letting him sleep while stuff dries. Another question. I've heard from some GEII is ok and others that it is not. I'm confused at this point. Everything on the label points to it being ok??? Thanks

in terms of what silicone to use GE I or GE II you are going to always get varying answers. I personally use GE I for window and door. As long as its 100% silicone and has no additives for mildew / mold you are generally ok. Now if it was me, i would wait at least 2 days to be sure. You definitely want to make sure the smell is gone for one thing. I think GE II's smell goes away pretty quick but i would still give it at least 2 solid days. I'm sure you know by now the fumes silicone gives off while it is curing are pretty strong and i know when i was sealing a background in silicone i almost had to stop for a bit because the fumes were getting too strong for me and giving me a headache. Now if it can do that to a adult person, imagine what it could do to a tiny little frog. Better safe than sorry in my opinion. Do you have like a 10 gallon tank you would setup as a temporary enclosure with some substrate and some hiding spots, that's what i would do and leave them in the temp house for a solid two days just to be safe with the silicone curing. And i agree, i'd move them while they are sleeping and try not to disturb them.
