fed dotty a hopper today. it was the biggest out of the pack, and she gobbled it down faster then the other two (which she ate a while ago, atleast three weeks ago and no not at the same time) shes getting pretty big. i have three firebellys that eat crickets too. so i have a wide variety of sizes. she wont even touch small crickets. she ignores them. shell eat large crickets. i feed her a couple with the tongs. also put a couple in her tank. the larger the animal the quicker she goes for it. the biggest thing i gave her was this hopper. but ive feed her trout worms (which she wouldnt touch) so correction ive tried to feed her trout worms. i think they were too skinny for her liking. the crickets once in a while she wont hesitate too long, other times you have to taunt her before shell go for it. the pinkys shes had she eaten with a pretty quick response. but nothing like the hoppers. like today it didnt even touch the ground i was dropping it in to move it with the tongs an before it hit the eco earth she had a piece of it in her mouth. i really want to get some horn worms, but ive got my eye out for another pac, so im kinda waiting so i can use more of the worms ( i know they grow really quick).
heres two pics. sorry my phone is crappy so i couldnt get video (no sd card) and i didnt want to disturb her eating and stress her out)
sorry im just gabbing away about my pacman
two of the best things ive seen... when she swallows the hopper, you can totally see the shape and bulge in her side
my top though is when she comes out of the substrate, she starts to ripple her body like one side at a time and all the old eco earth residue comes off and shes so clean looking in that spot. and shell continue to ripple sections of her body and get bright yellow. then she starts to open her mouth and use her forelegs to wipe her face. (i think that she is shedding but 100 percent sure)
oh yea her forelegs seem to have pads but no black markings, there just white all over just the tips seem to have more cussion, does this meen shes female?
