Question Is Full Spectrum light good enough?

Yesterday I went shopping for a Repti Glo 5.0 Fluorescent Tropical Terrarium lamp, but everywhere I went was sold out of the size I needed. So I settled for this Repta-Sun 5.0 UVB Full Spectrum light. I read on UV Lighting for Reptiles: Introduction to UVB Fluorescent Tubes that this one is more for just imitating daylight,"...emitting UVA but only very low levels of UVB". This is the only light source I have available right now and I don't have the money to replace it with the one I originally wanted.

I have an American Bullfrog. Will this light be good enough for her and the plants growing in her terrarium? Also, will this light "...stimulate appetite, activity and reproductive behavior" like the Repti Glo light would?Name: $(KGrHqUOKjsE5VSp-4K4BOh8,s,ptw~~60_3.JPG

5.0 UVB is 5.0 UVB no matter what bulb. If it says 5.0 UVB then that is how much UVB Radiation is relased from the bulb. Full Spectrums usually don't release as much UVB, but if it say 5.0 then its the same amount as the Repti Glo. Full Spectrum lights are brighter than the Tropical Repti Glo bulb though. There. Will be differences from brand to brand though.

The frog only needs a light source to stimulate light and day, which can be done with whatever lightsource. The plants seems to do best with "full spectrum" and a lightning colour of 6500k. The UVB is not really needed and can (not saying it will) be hurtfull for the frog. The 5.0 is quite heavy on the UVB, so make sure you have shade and cover from th light.

On a sidenote, I think the number is how much of the emitted light that is UVB (in percent), so in this case it's 5%.

Oopse! That's what I was saying Martin. I just didn't lable it as 5% UVB. Thanks for clarifying it though.
