Default locust eggs drying out? :/

I'm new to breeding locusts and my female one layed 2 pods of eggs a few days ago. They are in a plastic container around 4 inches deep. But because i live in new zealand i have to have them on a heat mat 24/7. but how do i keep the eggs from drying out? the heat mat is only around 20 degrees but the eggs are not an orange colour anymore they are more of a beige-white. I have no idea whats causing it? and also the soil is not moist at all, i try to spray it alot but the water never sinks in. Can anyone with locusts please help me?.

i dont anythign about raising locust but if you are sitting your container directly on the heat mat you may want to elevate the container away from the mat some. If you can't keep the soil moist enough then mist more
