well at the moment a aquarium tank i had which used to have tropical fish in.. my partner modified the lid with mesh to allow air in its 3 ft long x 1 foot tall. i know its not big/tall enough for long and have eyed up some vivariums for frogs, ive put a real plant in and a pool & some artifial leafy climbers in as well as twistable vines for them to climb on and a heat pad covered with barky stuff that the pet shop recomemded. what size vivarium would you suggest? would rather go large as to not have to change much in future when they grow. i want to invest in the correct one which why i havent purchased on yet......

Taller tanks work better than longer. They love climbing. Personally, I love the open front terraniums. It makes it so much easier. With four though, you would need a large one! The one I have is 18x18x24 (I think), and I have two in there.

thank for that....the open fronted ones are what ive been looking at cause ive been a bit concerned about the fact that they could hop out the top when i open it. i guessed it would have to be a large one i want them to be as happy as possible....
one thing i was wondering is what age do they start croaking i have no ideal of there age really they are all roughly the same size but im also not sure of there sex its pretty hard to tell isnt it?
i was watching tv today and one of them started croaking... just thinking as there are 4 in there???.... how easy is it for baby froggys to arrive not sure im ready for that! lol.....

When I got my first, it was maybe an inch long. Very small. The big crickets I fed it were almost as big as the frog! It was a couple months before I heard a croak from it. At first it was so soft, and not what I was expecting at all; I thought it was the parakeets chirping. When I got the other one, I had to wait till it was nearly the same size as the one I had gotten 6-7 months earlier, and it was already croaking when I got him. I love white's croaking. It's usually at night, but Luigi does it throughout the day, and both will croak if it's quiet and then I turn the TV or the radio on. When I was suspicious that my first one was croaking, and it wasn't parakeets, I found a file online of a white's croaking, and played it several times. The frog eventually answered to it.

Their sex is hard to determine, from everything I've looked up. I'm pretty sure Luigi is a male, but the other one is so hard to tell. Luigi just croaks all the time, has such a dark throat, has dark pads on his feet. He seems male.

I don't think you'll accidently have babies. There's some requirements for them to reproduce, like a rain chamber and I think cycling. I know you could find more info, but I think it takes work to prepare them for breeding.

How about a standard 29 gallon? Or a 60 gallon?

pheww!.... glad that they dont just start reproducing!

well these are about 1 & 1/2 inches from bottom to nose not including leg span so im guessing they are not very old but they certainly arnt little babys.
does the colour of them mean anything 2 of them are greenish blue and the other two are brownish green?

edit.. think the bigger the better on vivaruim...

Maybe you got two that are blue phase? I love the blue phase.

Also, lots of things can influence colour, like temperature or mood. One of my blues stays mostly brown throughout the day, then is more green at night. The other almost always stays the nice blue colour.

When it comes to feeding, I think the open front is better (though crickets find a way to escape! Days later I'll find one on the floor of my apartment. Pretty easy to catch though), especially when it comes to hand-feeding mealworms. Plus if it wasn't for the open front, Luigi wouldn't have so much fun jumping out of the front onto my couch or on me.
