I have 2 retf and I've had them for about 5yrs or so. They are WC and we bought them from a show a few yrs back. They've always done great. The smaller guy is now losing weight. They have always been together and have never had any problems eating and getting enough food. Do you think it's just old age? I don't know what to do for him.
You would probably want to check the tank they are in for any abnormalities. Sometimes a change in temp. or humidity many lead to them not eating.
Also, if those seem okay, you should try doing a major tank cleaning. Replace the soil with new soil and wash any decorations you have in the tank. If you have a vivarium, like I do, try your best at removing any waste you see. You could purchase springtails and have them get rid of any fecal matter or dead insects.
Also, sometimes tree frogs do this normally. Frogs may respond to changes in the seasons and may be going through some sort of hibernation period. But you should check all of the above first before you assume this. If your frog continues to not eat, take him to a vet to see what is wrong.
Okay, I'll try doing a major tank cleaning and see if that helps. Hopefully it will.
