Hi I finally got tree of bombina, two adult males and female, one male has been hugging the female for two days and the other has been stocking them biting the other males leg and barking all night, shall I take out the stocker? will they lay eggs, the guy who had them sayd they had stopped feeding on winter and just began feeding last month
They will only produce eggs if they have gone through a cooling period. Mine amplexus all the time but since I have not cooled them, nothing becomes of it.
Hi Kurt thank you very mutch, shall I take out the other male? I really need to breed them because they are not imported here anymore, Could you please tell me how to breed them, cooling them to 17°C for 3 months is the correct time and temperature, can they be cooled anytime of the year or only in winter, whats the minimum temperature for them to hibernate, I read it was 15 but others say 4
Here is a few pics of mine. Cool them down for a few weeks. Feed them heavy and leave them in the rainchamber for a week or so.
The female needs to look really fat otherwise she has no eggs in her.
Hi Thank you very much for your advice could you please tell me how to cool them and at what temperature, all the sites say different things about it here is a pic, is she fatt enough?
She is fat enough. Wait til you have a rain system come into your area. Do you have them in a regular tank or in a rainchamber?
my friend I have rain system since yesterday and a rain chamber just like yours but nuthing is happening just a male ridding the female
lots off eggs today!
Good! Take the adults out after the eggs are all laid and get ready to feed the babies. Soon as they hatch feed them about 3-4 days later.
