Default Gray Tree Frog did the Pacman?

No the title isn't what it seems, I don't have a Pacman frog right now but I will in a few weeks/a month. I walked into my room where the frogs cage is and saw that my Gray Tree Frog was on the floor of his cage (in the dirt) so I thought he was hungry. He didn't eat the Wax Worm I tossed in for him, he hopped away from it actually, and buried himself in the dirt under one of his sticks. Could he be doing this because I turned the heat lamp on to give the cage a little bit of warmth as I thought it was a bit chilly in the cage? He is active at nights, will climb the walls of his aquarium, hop from stick to stick, go to the bottom of his cage then climb back up the glass etc.

My Fowler's Toad is eating fine, been eating the crickets I throw in the cage (skipped eating yesterday) and today he ate 5 Wax Worms. Both of my frogs are males (I hear them croak at night/morning. Last night my Gray Tree Frog croaked so loud it freaked my father out who was visiting for a short while lol.

Yup. You are probably making it too hot and dry for him, so he retreats to the substrate which I assume has some moisture to it.

My Gray's don't go to the floor so I'm clueless on that. Also don't feed to many waxworms, they are high in fat, use them as a treat. Earth worms and butter worms would be a better choice for them.

My greys normally don't hangout on the floor either, but sometimes they burry themselves in the potted plants I have in there. I agree with Kurt's diagnosis, the light must be too intense. Grey tree frogs don't require a ton of heat, and it's normally for them to be a bit chilly this time of year.

I'll turn off the heat lamp, I put aluminum foil on the top of the cage should I remove that too? I figured it'd keep in the humidity some. My Gray Tree Frog is up from the soil, on the edge of his cage. I noticed his color has changed from dark gray to a light gray, is that normal or should I change something else? He did croak this morning, some of the loudest croaks I've heard, between my dog snoring and having her dreams and both my frogs croaking I'm surprised I'm getting any sleep lol.

    Light grey is good/normal.
