This is semi-old I know, but since it's about turtles, I couldn't resist .

I own a 3yr old Trachemys Scripta Elegans, other-wise known as Red Ear Slider, named Sora. She's about 8 1/2 inches.

Turtles are my favourite creatures. It's quite interesting, your blog. I wish I had come across it when I first got her , but I've learned and now she's quite happy and big. I've been contemplating getting a degree in either Herpetology or Brachatology after I get my Music degree, only, I don't quite like Snakes and I somewhat prefer Amphibia, so it's a toss-up .

I enjoyed reading your blog .

(Ps- I also quite enjoy the Common Musk Turtle or as some know it, the Stinkpot, even though it's more aquatic then amphibious.)

Thanks very much for the kind words. I hope you follow up on your degree...if animals are your passion, nothing can quite compare to a life spent working with them. Herpetologists can specialize, so either degree will serve you well. Musk turtles are great favorites of mine; one female in my collection is now 42 years old, and still going strong.
