Unhappy R.I.P Alex the RETF :'(

I don't know if you saw my thread about my frog having the swollen eye. Well, I went into the vet (like so many of you said) and i couldn't get an appointment until Monday at 3:20. I knew he wasn't going to live for that long. We'll I woke up and went to check on him, he was fine but his eye got bigger. So i I went to school. I came back at 3:40 and checked on him to see his eye Literally got so big it popped and he died on his side in a puddle of his own blood..... My other red eyed didn't get infected though.

So sorry ! It's often a hopeless feeling when they are sick.

Maybe his eye was injured by something?
Check the enclosure carefully for any sharp objects.
Especially, on plastic plants and vines.
The coated metal sometimes has parts that are still exposed!

It was not an injury, it spread to his skin and got pasty green blotches everywhere. Also, i checked there is nothing sharp.

I'm so so so sorry. D; It is a completely hopeless feeling when you cant do anything. And then you start thinking "there had to be something I could have done to prevent this!" and often there isn't and you just feel helpless and hopeless.

But you took care of him as best you could and thats all he would have asked for. Rest well little Alex.
