You're talking chemical-wise right? It's hard to know, plants. I wouldn't trust aluminum wire if it was from the dollar store or someplace. But if it's good floral stem wire, I think it might be OK. Is it the floral "stem wire" (between 28-18 gauge) or the thicker aluminum wire (around 10 gauge?) Did you sanitize it at all?

Or were you talking about the actual wire being sharp, like Kingcam asked? Some googling around tells me its made of galvanized steel.

    Thanks guys.

Its really hard to find any real information about the stuff I bought.

It is 20 gauge, "painted" wire from wal mart.

    Walmart.com: Stem Wire: Crafts

Ive buried all the exposed ends into the polyurethane, but I think over time there will probably still be corrosion issues. I am worried about that being a problem for the frogs with all the water and humidity. None of the wires will be submerged, but they will probably be exposed to water and high humidity...

I'd say try to seal around where the wires enter the polyurethane with silicone or something. Keep an eye on it, if rust ever starts leaking out of the holes you'll need to do something about it. You might get lucky and not have any issues.
